Reconnect continued ~

Here's one of my more professional photos, as I am no photographer as you could tell in most of my pics, which leads me off to something else I had plans to do while "having more time", get one of those really nice cameras and learn to use it. I haven 't even bought the camera yet. My best friends for my 30th this year all pitched in for a gift card for me to go out and get myself one, the gift card is burning a hole in my purse as I type :)
(in the mean time, my sister gets the camera for christmas from her husband - what a slap in the face, but hey Ive probably played with it more since she's gotten it!)
I keep telling myself, soon soon soon, I will jump in and catch up, but Im totally fooling myself.

I know I can't FOREVER forego the laundry monster, the dust bunnies on the floor, the never ending toy clean up battle, my fetish to keep crumbs off the counter (nevermind the floor), the 30 miscellaneous piles of nothing stacked up around the house as if its to help the house look neat, man I can barely roll out of bed without instantly making "my side" of the bed while Z is still sleeping. YES having kids has given me OCD, I wont lie - I need medicine to keep me at a normal level to let go of the everyday needs of a household nevermind children because I dont have time for Yoga or meditation and if I did, I'd totally rather Zumba or Kick Boxing!
I once got on a steady Zumba roll, going a few times a week, it was fun, I loved it - Z decideds to come home one day a month later and break his arm on black ice in the driveway - Have not been to Zumba since and that was over 2 years ago lol!


With all this said I am off to bed :) ...

Can you say Reconnect?

Today I must of felt some nostalgia or longing for something, not sure what it was though. I didn't realize right away but definitely figuring that must have happened.

I realized that since I quit my full time job, I have lost all time, and seem to have accomplished little in the mean time.

Quitting was amazing! I was excited, scared and completely beside myself, while Zack started losing his hair :P

I thought Id get to big stuff, small stuff, and new stuff! Like play with the kids more, like crafts, games and what not, even more outtings (hasnt really happened). I hoped to finish filling out the kids babies books, organizing the thousands of pictures we have, reorganize tons of different corners of our home, take up some type of exercise routine maybe like a mommy and me something with Jacoby while Cam went  to school. I hoped to get my business in gear, make tons of more products, build my website, seek out other venues etc.

All I can say my life has come to that of the typical stay at home mommy. Im not complaining! haha. Just wish I've made more of it over the past 7-8 months I've been out of the corporate world...

To be continued... Sorry dinner is calling and the kids, inlaws and hubby won't take no for an answer, Can I just say I have so much littler time for ME (seriously not complaining!!!!)

Guess What Im coming back to the blog world, or going to try too :)

So now I work part time, do tons of sewing on the side and get to stay at home with my incredibly amazing and crazy children. What more can I ask for right now!?

A break :)

I had plans to go away with the college girls for the weekend to celebrate our 30th's and what happens...

I catch the flu/bug thing my kids had last week, so I think I may have to miss out. We planned it months ago, we were going to head up to Portsmouth, may Spa it and take it easy with just the girls, and instead I dropped Camryn off at school and scooted Jacoby over to play with my cousins little ones while I relax and nap and hope to feel better.

I've totally fell off the blog list world, but I've finally started to balancing again, and loved reading and staying in touch with some of those incredible blogs and ladies out there! So I am back and will be putting up some good sewing projects, because I've had my hands full with them!

Hey its Monday! Another crazy week underway, right??!!


I completely enjoyed hearing what many of you had to say about relocating! Many of you are completely satisfied where you are and other have aspirations of possible places to live which is great. I figured today I’d to share with you my destinations to move to, and please feel free to yay or neh on them.

There are so many places I’d love to seek out to live in but here’s a few that would be cost effective.

- the Raleigh/Durham area of NC

- Austin, TX area

f money wasn’t a factor I’d probably choose an incredible southern west coast shoreline city. I would love to look out my window every morning to see the ocean and tons of sailboats in port gearing up for a day sailing and lounging.

But I’m a total East Coast girl through and through (which is why NC is so enticing)! There’s a scene like that Im sure along the outerbanks! See I love cities, but I love the coast, and I love good ol’ country fun and music so where would I go lol….

Also on the line up I found through “J” ‘s fun blog of Boobies, Babies, and a Blog, is a round of fun Monday questions to help get to know many of you better. The where would you live was a fun way to hear from many of you, and these sounded like some fun questions to read about! I believe you can link up as well if you’d like at the Daily Dose of Reality which does the Monday Minute. (I unfortunately am at work this lovely rainy day and have the stinkin’ restrictions preventing my “McLinky” ability.) I am still going to post my answers today, so if interested let me know your answers or post them and let me know where to find them. Also if interested I believe the idea stemmed from www.mannland5.com ‘s “Getting to Know You” ( I loved the button picture, cute huh?)

1 - Why did you start blogging? Originally it was to be another source to blog about my Etsy shop and stuff like that, but I’ve found so many other great things to vent and learn about from many of you, that sometimes its my own therapy for sanity!

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"? Zura from “Sew Retro Chic” She’s lives in Malaysia so is the least likely I’d run into anywhere, but makes and shares “sew” many incredible items she makes for her daughters and such, and sounds like a truly genuine woman.

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are? I’m not concerned with losing and extra lbs. People are always telling me to put some lbs. on but with my crazy on the go life style, That’s the one thing I don’t worry about!

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you? This will be blunt – Its not that I don’t like s-e-x, its just that I don’t have time for it!

5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes? One that’s not visible. The standard chic lower back tat. When I am laying down sometimes my husband tells my kids it’s a sticker & they try to scratch it off. Nice huh!

6 - What was the best year of your life and why? That’s a tough one – I’d have to say my first year of college. I loved my new independence being on my own and no responsibilities. I ate it all up!!!!!

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day. Does that mean my husband would a be woman for a day??!!

1. Do all the things that “p” off any wife daily like leaving dirty dishes, socks, shoes, clothes, shaved hair, mail etc laying around the house
2. use a urinal
3. scope out hot chics
8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows? Probably a large stout beer! Im not into wimpy beer :)

My Mini Me

Good morning and happy weekend to everyone! So an old friend and neighbor I grew up left a comment on my facebook picture of Camryn in the pink Kimono with her arm up saying wow she's a mini Krissy! It felt so nice, because when I gave birth to her she came out the spitting image of Daddy. And all us moms know, all that work and she looks like Daddy :) Thank goodness Daddy is cute!!!! Now pictures of Jacoby are spitting images of Daddy too as he gets older, but Camryn as she grows older, particular pictures of her look like Mommy, and I get to say wow she is my daughter.

Although I should have known anyway by her lovely temper, for instance this morning she is yelling "mommy come here, I need you (all frustrated mind you)" I say "ok Camryn what do you need?" she yells back "I just need you, come here!!!" and I say back " Camryn please tell me what you are doing and I'd be happy to come over and help you" and she yells back "no, not until you come here", finally I yell back "well not until you tell me what your doing." I instantly laughed thinking oh my, is she my daughter, that stubborn trait comes straight from mommy. Her sense of style and crazy color ideas are true to me too, I always loved bright, frilly, fun and girly colors and stuff. (still do, im just an adult now, tear tear) So she is my true daughter through and through! Here is another picture of her dancing around the 12 dancing princess or something alike, with a.ka. Gooey, her cousin Amber, also running around in one of the Kimono Kyoko tops I made her and a princess cape :)









Here is the next Kyoko Kimono top made in 2T, I can't get enough of them and I just had my friend Laura pick up some other great fabrics to make some with yesterday! When Zack gets home from his too long of a business trip tomorrow, he'll be in charge and I'll be sewing hopefully.

I did not want to forget the cobeman this weekend either, so here's a quick "drooly" picture of him. He is always full of smiles.

He sat on my lap this morning while I was reading about Layla Grace getting tons of kisses and squeezes as I read along and that truly touched my heart and could not let go without mention this morning. Her mom of Momi Boutique has shared so much of a life battling journey of her loving, sweet, and treasurable little girl. Have you ever turned on the radio in your car and was like, wow, this was made for me! I do it all the time. Today it was Phil Vassar's Just Another Day in Paradise.

Driving to work after dropping off the kids, one crawling up my leg as I drop him off and the other screaming to refuse to eat breakfast, after leaving the house to my husband running out the door leaving the house a mess and asking him to clean up after himself. Driving to Hartford this morning actually pleasant as I sat back and realized no matter how crazy my days may be "EVERYDAY" I absolutely love my life and wouldn't change one thing... (maybe just the working full time factor, in change to make what I love in my free time).

Plus i am feeling super sentimental today that almost every song I hear today brings me back in time to something special. I am completely enthrawled with my country music today, tomorrow maybe it will be my Hip Hop day, or Old school rock, but today its country!

My little girl has a crush!

My almost 4 yr old daughter has a major crush on a boy in her class. I think it is absolutely hilarious and cute, but at what age is it normal to start developing crushes!

I remember my 1st crush was in kindergarten so I guess she's not too far from me considering I never went to preschool and my first social class environment was Kindergarten. (no thats not a picture of me and my 1st crush, just saw the pic and thought it was oh so cute, and reminds me of all the blondes in my life)

So anyway she always says she likes his "shirts", he's nice, so I ask "do you think he's cute" and she's says yes and blushes. I laugh.

Then a few weekends ago we were at her soccer game and she spots this boy across the field, as apparently she was going to be playing against him that day. Needless to say he was the only thing she paid attention to on the field that day.

Next, I go and pick her up at school yesterday and she runs back in the class to give this "young man" a hug (he smiled and blushed), then she ran out and we left.

This morning, I go in her room, wake her up to get her ready for school and she starts opening her eyes all groggy and faintly says "Where's Adam?" and I was like huh and started laughing and she got all embarrassed.

I tell daddy the latest news on her crush this morning and he's like oh dear its starting! I told him well at least her crush is on a nice cute kid! :)

Oh to be young again, the things I would do and change. I am very thankful for have a "girl's night" tonight with my Fab 5. I can reminisce and share this sweet story that they'll all get a kick out of.

A Boost of Confidence

So my ideas were flowing this past weekend and after having a rough week last week with guilt being away from my kids all day long all week long I started reading this book my mom passed along to me. (we have the same creative mind and passion to move foward with our ideas).

The book really gave me a boost and perspective of things I need to look into and start doing to help my success:

1. Somehow patton a name asap (we'll see how soon that comes along, as $$$ is involved)



2. I have already started a pretty lenghty business plan, so that was good (my college degree came in hand with that one since I'd did plenty of them throughout my college days).



3. I need my products to have a niche, something more unique about them on why they are different from the rest of the market. The niche was created for the shop idea, just not my products yet, and I'd certainly hate to just be a plain old copy cat! So I have been brainstorming that one and have a few ideas that will need some practice first.



4. Don't be bashful or ashamed of what you are doing. I am a very modest person and hates to brag about what I love (besides my awesome kids!), so practiced that already by trying to be more confident when my friends and family asked about my venture this passed weekend.

So I gained all this insight just from a reading the beginning of this book while driving home from my 9 to 5 while carpooling with my brother inlaw.

So then I didn't have much time to work on any products this weekend between showers, kids, cleaning, kids, cooking, kids, husband lol, kids, rest, kids, ahhh and its Monday again! But I was able to keep up with online correspondence and was asked to by a few people to create tutus for gifts, which got my creative juices flowing.

1. a tutu for a "scary" ballerina - will be my first real black tutu

2. a special tutu for a birthday girl who's family is very into their Irish heritage, which I actually began last night while trying to appease my husband by watching a movie with him at the same time.

3. a purple tutu dress for a possible etsy sale I am looking forward to

4. There was one request I seen too for a tutu design needed for a marathon runner, which I thought would be super exciting to make and it to be seen by all the runners and spectators, so I made a bid and am hoping for the best :)

Some more confidence came from my husband telling me he'd take the kids out one night this week leaving me with the free time to actually get some good work done. That is a long cry from him before being upset with the money I have spent so far to get things going, so that helped!

And again all I want is to do things I love, one see my kids grow up first hand and be apart of it and make things I love for great people in my life and others.

I see this by opening a cute boutique with my friend Laura whom should be having kids soon and will be in the same predicament. Have the ability to work and create on our own time/working time within the shop, have my little "cobeman" (Jacoby) running around where he pleases in there under my supervision :) while I can come and go to bring my "monster" (Camryn) to school, dancing, soccer etc whenever she needs to or be home when they're sick like Camryn is today who is at home being nursed by Grandma and not me :(.

In end today, I've convinced myself and Laura to register for our first craft fair! We'll see which one we pick and where it goes from there :)
